Hello everybody that still may read my blog here & there! Sorry, I’ve been M.I.A. for a while…just haven’t had much going on to write about & got a little lazy in the process. Well, I finally decided last weekend to finally break down and sign up for the gym…do you think I went at all during the week…Nope! Well, today I had to go in for that typical fitness assessment that they have you do when you sign up at the gym. My appointment was actually yesterday, but I had to cancel due to the fact my bathroom decided to go haywire in the middle of the night & the toilet had water coming out of it…the tub was full of gunk & grime & was filling itself up via the emergency drain….Blah! Not fun, especially in the middle of the night when you just want to pee and go back to bed. Needless to say I was up very late washing towels and keeping an eye on things & then had to wait around for the landlord the next morning to come out and check on everything. Okay….that was totally off topic….any who…I rescheduled for 12:00 today. So I get up this morning and eat my typical Greek yogurt hoping that will hold me over while I go in for my appointment, which was only suppose to be an hour. Well, I get there right on time and the guy I have my appointment is running behind because someone came in late, so they just told me to warm up doing some cardio…so I stroll along on the treadmill for about 15 minutes while I’m waiting & then he came & apologized for running behind and introduced himself. Holy hotness! My knees about buckled getting off the treadmill when I went to follow him to his desk. He’s a 33 year old, hotter version of “The Rock” (Dwayne Johnson). I could have sat at talked to him all damn day, so gorgeous! So we sit and go over the questionnaire and go over eating habits, goals, etc….typical assessment questions. We did that for at least a half hour….then the receptionist walked over a phone message that his 1:30 cancelled, so he got all excited that he was going to be able to work with me longer…I wasn’t apposed to it either! That is…until it came to the workout. He went through about 4 different exercises for the legs & then he had me do them all after he demonstrated. First was where you put one of those big fitness balls behind your back and you lean on it against the wall and then squat down until your butt is even with your knees….easy enough, so I did about 10-12 & then on to the next exercise, lunges. I despise lunges but he wanted me to hold on to his arms while I did them, so it wasn’t too bad. Then we did the same thing for squats & last was the wall sit. By the end of that I was tuckered out! Then he said we’re going to do it all over again….BLAH! So, we need the one with the ball again….then the lunges…and then I must have not been looking so good because he decided we better take a water break and chill for a minute. When I started feeling nauseous and looked like I was about ready to pass out…he said, that will go ahead and be it for the workout for the day. Thank God! So I’m following him back across the gym to his desk and still feeling nauseous and light headed, not to mention I had rubber band legs from exercises we did. We get back to his desk and sit down & he said this is why you need to make sure and eat carbs & protein in the morning. Since I was still not feeling well after sitting down he brought out his rice cakes and told me to eat one….what do you know…after a few bites I felt 100% better! Note to self….eat more than yogurt before going and working out! Anyways….we sat there and talked for a while and then came out the personal training sales pitch, which I was expecting from being part of the gym before back when I lived in the Chicago suburbs. As bad as I hate working out….you put a hot guy in a tight shirt and beautiful muscular arms in front of me…it’s practically impossible to say no….*sigh*. So….you know what that means…I’m signed up for 12 months of personal training. The first three sessions are with him & then I think you’re passed off to the other trainers at the gym….darn it. He was just the bait that reels you in. Oh well….at least it will hold me accountable & the money I’m spending is basically what I’m not going to be spending on fast food dinners, which I’ve gotten into a horrible habit of doing in the past month. So, no more fast food….maybe I’ll try to prepare a few nights worth of dinners tonight for the week, so it will be easier. Anyways, that was my day….now to finish up laundry and try to plan out meals for the week…although I’ve always sucked at doing that…anyone have any good tips?
